The Bird Buddy feeder sold by Best Buy includes the solar panel roof. I've exprienced on a sunny day, the battery charge never drops below 90 percent, even rising higher on a good day. This makes me think that, seriously, if you pick a sunny location it would be MONTHS before it needed a charge, and maybe not even then. If does need charging, the camera, which is held in the feeder by a strong magnet, just pops right out and is charged easily with a USB-C cord.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have had 2 Bird Buddy's, with the solar roof, since July. I have only needed to charge 1, once, because I had a hanging plant over the solar panel. I was worried with nights being longer, but I just rotated the solar panel to face more South. They are at 96% and 97%. The camera is very easy to take out and charge , if needed.

The electronic module is detachable and rechargeable via the USB-C cable that is included in the order. If you want to have the stream running constantly, you can plug Bird Buddy into a power source and never lose sight of just what is going on in your backyard. You can also decide to purchase the solar roof add-on for a continuous charge during daylight!
