My first pass had that happen. I couldn't tell if it was because of some carpet fragments got caught in there or the wastewater reservoir filled up. A quick change of the water and cleaning out some loose carpet strands from the front of the machine, and it started right back up again. You can hear a slight change in the sound of the motor when the tank is full, so it must know to stop squirting more water when the tank fills up.
