“Is it possible to get the rack near the center? The picture makes it look as though it's always either close to the top or to the bottom.”

Hi Mike, The rack can be adjusted at three different positions. The picture here is not very clear. Hope it helps or I can post you a picture of my oven.

Yes and there are three positions altogether.

There is only 3 placements - upper (near top), standard (2nd from bottom) and bottom-most rack. There's no placement for 'center', but since its default on 2nd from bottom, the food area is considered 'centered', depending on what you're cooking.
