• No, it's not necessary. You can charge it on a flat floor surface too.

• No, it doesn't have to be mounted on the wall. You can place it on a shelf as long as the base is plugged into an outlet.

• No, I just set the vacuum in the charger and place it on the floor close to the outlet.
