• To just use the keyboard just one of the usb lines. If you have another usb hooked into the keyboard and your headset then 3 cables that are also on the same line will be used.

• The minimum amount is 1- the keyboard cable. the other two are a usb pass through and a head phone jack. so if u wanted to plug ur head phones and mouse into the keyboard instead of the keyboard you would have to use all of them
