yes and no. There is a subscription after the free trial. However, you can buy a small SD card and plug it into the sync module and instead of paying for a subscription for Blink to keep your videos, they are then downloaded to the SD card. I found a unit on Amazon that you plug into an outlet that holds the sync module and includes an SD card.
