No. But you will not get to see any live feeds or get if you don’t have the service. And if you for go the service you must buy a storage box to store any of the clips. Which you will get a notification that something has moved , but will not allow you to see it immediately if you don’t have the service you have to wait to get home to pull them up on to who broke into your home!! I highly recommend purchasing a plan they are a fair price
