• you don't need a subscription to view live mine saves to a SD card on my hub in my house whenever said you need one is a dumby, i have three blink cameras all saved to my sd card no subscription

• Hi Molly, thank you for your question. The Blink Outdoor 4 Camera has a USB-C port in the back which gives it the ability to be hardwired. When hardwired, you do not need to have batteries inserted. Without a method of storage (either Local Storage or a Blink Subscription Plan) the devices will not record any motions or live views. You will be able to perform live views and get motion notification alerts, but nothing will be recorded. I hope this helps, have a great day!
