Mine did the same thing, I went through the setup again, being sure I selected the correct mount with wiring and chime, the doorbell did function properly after 2nd setup. Be sure the wired doorbell transformer is correct, mine was 16 volt 10VA, also installed the AA batteries. I also deleted the first setup and went through the complete process again. I took pictures of the doorbell and module barcodes so I wouldn’t have to remove them to scan them, the doorbell tabs could be damaged if your not careful.

The problem is the original transformer doesn't have the voltage required to run two units. I believe most transformers are between 5/7 volts these units require an upgraded transformer that puts out atleast 25 volts. The replacement isn't to difficult especially if you have some basic electrical knowledge or you can turn to You Tube, hope this helps.
