it literally just spews water and runs over it with like a swifter rag -- it does not suck/vacuum the water back in, so whatever you would put on your wood floors is what you would put in the mop mechanism. I use water and white vinegar solution, and my wood floors are fine.

We vacuum in that mode then when done have it do the mop mode. Does great.
