- Answer Longball, noise dBA refers to the sound level of the motor operation. Most dishwashers operate at a dBA level of about 80. The Bosch SHXM4AY5*N is much quieter at 48dBA.

QuestionWill this dishwasher fit into a 23 1/2 inch wide cabinet? I am replacing a Fischer Paykel two-drawer dishwasher and it seems that the American brands will not fit because they are wider.

QuestionWhy does the description say that there is heated drying, and when going to the description of heated drying it says thats a heating element. I didn't want the condensation drying, I bought this machine under assumption it has heating element.

- Answer According to Bosch, the dishwasher uses condensation drying. The very first time I used the dishwasher, it was empty. Manufacturer suggests running the dishwasher once without dishes. When I opened the dishwasher, it was wet inside. I was concerned that this was going to be a problem. However, after looking at many reviews and reading the manual, I found the easy solution. Use Finish drying rinse aid! I use the ‘Auto’ cycle and ‘Extra Dry’ selections. I never have a problem. The dishes are always dry. I’ve had this dishwasher for 6 weeks and I love it! This is the first dishwasher i’ve ever had where it actually washes the dishes!! I don’t have to pre-wash them before putting them in the machine. I will never buy another brand if dishwasher. Bosch is the best!!

- Answer HI mmhmah, thank you for your question and interest in Model:SHXM4AY55N. Per the Installation Manual for this Dishwasher: Attach hot water line to elbow. Use two wrenches to tighten to avoid putting stress on the water inlet valve. You should also have your water heater set at 120°F and your water pressure measure 15-145 psi (1-10 bar).

- Answer The third rack on top is also a cutlery rack, NOT for rubber baby bottle nipples, but it’s for larger cooking utensils and doesn’t work well on spoons if they flip curved side down. This is just a cheap thing on Bosch’s part.

- Answer Yes u can remove it. I wouldn't remove it until your happy with it not drying dishes. We are returning ours so didn't remove clear covering

QuestionDifference between 100 300 and 500 models

- Answer The 100 model is what I have, it has a plastic bottom instead of stainless steel but the rest of the unit is stainless. I think the 300 has the bottom stainless as well as the sides. The 500 has all the bells and whistles electronically. I have series 100 and I am completely satisfied and thrilled with this Bosch dishwasher. My 100 series is silent and gets dishes Anazingly clean.

- Answer No, but the door resistance is strong enough that it would be hard for a small child, younger than maybe 4 or 5, to open it. Actually, my 80 yr old mother in law just moved in and she can't open it if I don't leave it ajar!
