“How many inches should the 500 dishwasher (model SHPM65Z55N) open with AutoAir? My new machine opens about 1/2 inch; looks at least two inches on the Bosch video. Does this model come with a vapor barrier to attach to the underside of the cabinet?”

Hi mrmrsclean, thank you for your question and purchase of Model: SHPM65Z55N. The AutoAir Option should open the Dishwasher approximately 1.5 inches. This Dishwasher does include a protective guard to help protect cabinetry. Please contact our Customer Support Team at 1-800-944-2904 for questions regarding either of these.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Another Best Buy installer was scheduled and found that there was a vapor barrier but it had never been put in place; he took care of it. He also moved the drain hose and junction box to a better location to reduce the risk of crimping the drain or water hose and to allow more room for the dishwasher under the cabinet. He then leveled the dishwasher. The door door now opens correctly using the AutoAir option.

Thankfully another service person fixed the poor installation. Is there any quality control of the installation service by Best Buy?
