Hi T, thank you for your question and interest in Model:B36FD50SNS. There is LED illumination from corner to corner. You can switch the interior lighting off or set the brightness. There are three settings: The interior lighting is switched off, minimum brightness or maximum brightness. This can be done through the submenu setting.

I don't know the exact number because they are recessed, but there are enough lights to have zero shade inside the fridge or the freezer when they're on. The fact that they're recessed is nice too because the fridge is very bright on the inside, but doesn't emit a ton of light into the kitchen to cause anyone to notice it from an adjacent room at night. Moreover the lighting for the external ice/water dispenser is enough that you can see when you cup is full as well as the bottom part of the dispensing lever having a light bar across it. The lights also automatically fade on and off which is a really neat and thoughtful touch.
