To know, you would have to pull out the old one and see what is behind the dishwasher. i would suspect if your house is more than 10 years old or if you have a pretty old dishwasher, then the adapter kit is needed. many newer dishwashers now have a regular plug. so yes, the salesman could have suggested you might need the kit. i would share that feedback with the salesperson. i am guessing a young BB employee might not know or have ever pulled one out to install!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My salesman also did not tell me, but I figured it out before the dishwasher was delivered and bought it separately. I thought that if not needed, I would just return. Actually, reading your question before delivery was one of the things that made me make the purchase.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You don't need a special box you just need a dedicated outlet. This is just a junction box that you tie the loose power wires into. The long term better solution would be to have a dedicated 110 outlet installed instead of this.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I’m not sure why they don’t clarify this. It seems most dishwashers are sold with the expectation that they will most likely be plugged into an outlet instead of hardwired to their own circuit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know same thing would have happened to me had I not watched a you tube video on installation. I told my salesperson they should have that listed this part as required if your current dishwasher is hardwired. Real epic fail to disclose important information.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Actually the connector was on the order. They didn't put it on the truck. The salesperson was one of the appliance people with the company that provides appliances to BB. Our experience was so awful with BB over this purchase that I would never buy anything from BB unless it was the only place to buy. I would recommend going to a local appliance that has their own installers and buy the appliance. The local appliance companies match the big box stores and they are a lot better to work with.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you should always look at the suggested parts when you place your order. I did and was glad I bought the suggested junction box. My plumber thanked me also.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because it's not required. The dishwasher come with a standard power cord that plugs into a standard power outlet. If your old dishwasher was "hard wired" just add an outlet on the end of your existing wire. It's not Bosch's fault that your previous electrician didn't give you an outlet. This box is a convivence. It's not a a necessity. Everything you need is already in the box with the dishwasher.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It was included in my online order
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We needed one as well and didn't order one with the machine. Now we're running all over town trying to find one. There is a open wall outlet under the sink. It's tied to the garbage disposal. The cord that comes with the machine probably would not reach anyway.
