Take a look at the Quick Start Guide that came with your speakers. There is a troubleshooting list of things to try. Did you try connecting them to another product, maybe another computer or take them to work and try them there? Maybe that will tell you if it is the product or your older PC. Check your PC settings, mute?, check cables are connected tight and there is no wear on the cables? I hate it when I buy something and it doesn't work. Can feel your frustration! Good luck.
