“When headphones are attached do they override the speakers or do the speakers still produce sound also?”

The speakers are automatically muted when headphones (or any cable with an 1/8-inch stereo plug) are connected to the system.

Please try again later.I went ahead a purchased these speakers and to be clear; When headphones are connected the speakers are muted and the volume knob on the speakers does control the headphone volume. I asked this because I do have other speakers (another brand) that, with headphones connected, volume must be controlled through software and I find that annoying. By the way, my headphones actually sound better than they ever have before when plugged into these Bose speakers.
