The output of your sound will depend on audio drivers your motherboard uses and the Bose speakers, not the built in speaker so it should be louder. Windows 7 should be fine.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pretty much hooking up any external speakers will be better than laptop speakers. To answer your second question speakers aren't dependent on an operating system so you will be fine.
