Nope. It is better sound than what the tv provides and I really like the dialog mode

The only problem was when I used my DVD blue ray player with 4 K the volume on my tv needed to be louder. So I purchased this sound bar to increase the volume and the bass. If you have allot of Super Heros dvds ( blue ray 4k) then you need to get a sound bar and after trying several the Bose 5 was the best for what I wanted to spend. Every time I turn on the tv I need to scan the blue tooth option to include the Bose otherwise it defaults to the internal speaker.
