IF your computer has bluetooth technology, it will automatically find the Bose speaker and show it in the list. Just power on the speaker and activate bluetooth to pair. My laptop does NOT have bluetooth so I use it through my chromebook or phone. It defeats my wireless purpose to need to wire it up...

Just make sure no other device in the area has their Bluetooth on other than the computer, select the Bluetooth button on the speaker, and the device should show up on the computer
