These ear buds have the standard 3 lead plug for smart phone ear buds. The set I bought, however, are specific to iPhone (Apple products), so the functionality probably doesn't work on anything but Apple devices. I don't know if the mic would still work on Android devices. Of course, they are still stereo ear buds so, for listening to music they work perfectly on my old Galaxy Note 10.2 tablet and my Insignia Flex Android tablet. On both device, the center stop/start button works fine, however, the + and - buttons do nothing. I recommend Android users buy one of the Bose earbud options specific for Android, however, I have no idea how those models compare to these Bose SoundTrue earbuds.

The SoundTrue Ultra In-Ear Headphones would work for audio, however, you could potentially lose the volume and play/pause button functionality on the wire itself. In addition, the microphone may not work. I would recommend the Samsung version of the SoundTrue Ultra headphones, those would be fully compatible with your Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Thanks so much for asking, I hope this helped! Take care, - Shiloh
