Hello Stacy! Thank you for the question. These headphones would be fine for audio playback. However, we have designed the communication cable to meet the requirements specific to Apple. Only during phones calls, the inline controls may function and respond differently. Other than that, if it has a 3.5mm headphone jack, you should be fine. Hope that helps! Have a great one.

Boss has one available for smartphones/ Android. Hopes this answer your question. I came across with the same problem when I decided to purchase the SoundTrue Ultra for my ipad.
