• The case is only for storage and charging only. They do not need to be nearby for operation. They are the only option for charging though, so you couldn’t go on a trip away without the case.

• Thank you for your question. You can leave the charging case at home and they will continue to function. However, we do recommend keeping the charging case nearby so the earbuds are not lost and to allow you to charge them Hope this helps.
