Is there a separate compartment for ground coffee? null

There is not a compartment for storing pre-ground coffee. However, you may use pre-ground coffee, if you wish. You would put it into the filter. We do always suggest using freshly-roasted whole beans, of course, as they give the best taste, and you'll have the ability to make any needed grind size adjustments.

No, coffee beans will get grounded and will fell into the portafilter. It wont hold any ground coffee within.
