I haven't used 13 in a while, but I would certainly think so. I just bought one this morning and got it printing in duplex off of Mint 17.3. The Cups and LPR .deb files are available on the Brother support website, along with instructions. They have a universal installer file that supposed to install the Cups and LPR files for you, but it did not work for me. They offer those individual files as well, on the same page, and doing it that way worked okay. FYI, to be able to use duplex at all, set DuplexNoTumble in the Printer Properties menu.
