• Yes. There's cyan, magenta, yellow, and black (black not included in this particular package). You can change any of them individually. I find that each of the 3 colors tends to run out at about the same time, so I've never had to buy just a single color.

• Yes, the cartridges are independent. We have two of these printers and the ink lasts much longer than other brands.
