“I know it's not recommended, but will this printer work with compatible ink cartridges? I've seen reviews that say it won't work. Also, is there a USB printer cable included?.”

You can use non-Brother but we recommend using genuine Brother supplies to maximize print quality and performance. The use of non-genuine supplies may adversely affect print quality, functionality, and performance of your Brother machine. Any machine malfunction associated with the use of non-genuine supplies may void your limited warranty. The machine does not come with a USB Cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I prefer to use the ink cartridges suggested. No USB cable came with the printer. I highly recommend a new cable be purchased, one that is less than 1/4 inch size because it plugs in the inside of the printer,
