- Answer Yes, I was able to print from my Apple Mac Pro Retina Display laptop. This printer requires 4 individual ink cartridges. (1 black, 1 cyan, 1 yellow, 1 red). But, just like many other printers I've own that uses multiple individual ink cartridge, the printer will not work if one or more ink is low on ink.
