Yes, the Brother MFC-J497DW can print on sticker or label paper.

Have not tried sticker paper. It prints well on ordinary copy paper or recycled paper.

I have not used it to print stickers or labels yet, but I don't see any element of its operation that would create a problem in doing so. It can handle heavy stock paper, so label sheets should not be an issue.
