We use it for occasional use for work, school etc so we didn't need an expensive model for anything fancy or high tech. Very easy set up via Mac and iPad. Wireless connectivity works well, no issues. I printed a photo just to test the quality and I am very impressed, same as in store printing. It is a bit slow to print, especially with the photo but for our needs it works just fine. Ink refills are less than 25$. I am very happy with this product thus far and would definitely recommend.

I'd put them all in correctly, but the panel would show that one or the other "was not detected," leaving me to remove the offending cartridge and push it back in, close the door, and then see that the panel said that NONE of the ink cartridges were detected. This is my first Brother and now I can see why. And Best Buy says it's no longer returnable---I ordered it on Feb. 4th 2020, Delivered Feb. 5, 2020 and get this........no longer returnable as of February 20, 2020!!! That is unbelievable to me. As of 2/20/2020 it was working perfectly fine. I simply cannot believe Best Buy will not take it back. STAY AWAY.

This is my second MFC type printer from Brother. My last one was just replaced/donated because .... it would never break down, and I just wanted to experience newer technology. Setup was ultra simple, and the print quality is excellent. I fully expect this printer to be trouble free for many years just as the last Brother MFC all-in-one printer I purchased.

- A:Answer Nope. I tried and it won't feed the sheet in more than 2 inches. Contacted Brother was told this machine won't print labels and doing this will void the warranty. This info should have been included in the product description or on the box. Would like to have known prior to purchasing.

- A:Answer It will print 200 pages with the starter cartridges that come with the printer. There is a high yield option of ink cartridges that will print 400 pages.

- A:Answer We read previous answers that said we could print with black only if other colors ran out. And we have managed to do so, however, we are getting annoying messages about yellow ink having run out every time we try to print. I have changed the default print to grayscale, so I hope this fixes it. I found the Brother manual online, and it says that if you run it with only black, air will blow through the other colors and may damage the print head. So, please disregard the previous answer that says you can print black only. So, be aware of this before you buy. Here's what the user guide says: Print using only the black ink cartridge when the Color cartridges have run out. Basically, your Brother machine is designed to stop ALL printing operations when any of the ink cartridges are empty. This is to ensure the life of the print head and maintain premium print quality. If the unit were to continue printing, print jobs and cleaning cycles would suck air from the empty cartridge and damage the print head. However, your Brother machine exceptionally can operate in a B&W Print Only (black and white) mode when one or more color ink cartridges are empty. When a color cartridge is empty, an error message will appear on the machine's display (hereinafter called LCD) of the machine stating B&W Print Only Replace Ink or B&W 1-sided Print Only Replace Ink. Follow the steps below to print using only the black ink cartridge: STEP1 Verify that the unit has message on the LCD If the LCD displays B&W Print Only Replace Ink or B&W 1-sided Print Only Replace Ink, continue to STEP 2. If the LCD displays other error messages (for example "Cannot Detect"), refer to "FAQs & Troubleshooting" for information on the error message you are receiving. The items listed below can cause the Black & White Print Only mode to end and the color ink cartridge will need to be replaced: You can use the machine as a Black & White printer for approximately four weeks. This depends on the number of pages you print. If you unplug the machine or remove the ink cartridge. If you select the Slow Drying Paper option on the machine or in the printer driver.
