“The specs for Brother XR9550 say that the machine comes with an 'LCD Wide Table'. Is that the 'table' pictured to the left of the sewing needle? Or is there some table included? I wonder if I need to purchase a sturdy table or sewing cabinet as well?”

Yes, it does it is in a separate box. Easy to install. I think a sturdy table is all you need. I put it on a 4 ft folding table bought at wallyworld years back. The pic is on the coffeetable but I just set up the little fold table and place the machine on it and it is perfect. That is the second picture of the table
