“How would this camera hold up in colder temperatures. I do a lot of hiking year round and i want something that will still work even if it's below zero”

It most likely will not work in below zero temps. Most DSLR’s will give some shooting problems in colder climates for long periods of time. Most of the time it’s the battery that freezes. This particular camera is mainly for general photography. It’s not built to be in rugged or very low temperatures. You will most likely have to look at the higher end cameras that are made more durable and meant for rugged terrain.
