“Brand new, I just took the printer out of the box and set it up, but nothing will print. I get error indicator light with every print command. In order for it to actually print, I have to specify which drawer in order for it to print. Why?????”

Check all the system settings on the machine as well as on your computer. Make sure you use the disc that came with the machine to install the Canon files on your computer. I tried using the files from the Canon support site but those files were not the complete system files, just updates.
