“Can the tr8620 use ink cartridge 250 and 251?”

• No. Mfg. says that although similar size, the electronics, etc. may be different. I had 250XL & 251 XL for my old printer, and had to order new cartridges that specifically fit this printer.

• I wish Canon would coordinate cartridges since I have several new boxes of 250 and 251 for my current printer but it is dying and I need a new printer. And of course they take a similar but totally different ink cartridge......
