Yes, because they are placed in different cartridges. I must say I haven't tried printing like that--printing from regular paper and then printing on photo card stock. You might want to wait for someone who has had the printer longer than I have (three weeks). But I still think it is possible, for when you go to print, you select which paper cartridge you want to print to. It just makes sense to me. I have had several different printers in my day!

Mine stopped working because it’s stuck on an “ out of paper” code, when the cartridge has plenty of paper. You might want to look online for Canon printer discussions and Q&A. It worked for about 3-1/2 months.
