Very clear printing and looks sharp sitting on my desk. Also like the way it prints on printable DVDs & CDs, since we produce a lot of "home movies" that I burn to DVD. Canon has always made great products, and this printer is no exception.

This is my fourth Canon printer since about 2009, all of them still work well. They perform with Mac and Windows equally and printing off an iPhone while attached to a PC is seamless. No settings adjustments os hiccups. I haven’t tried printing from a droid yet.
Side note: The 1st Canon I got was free with a computer purchase. I told the salesman to keep it. I had a “better” printer and didn’t need the clutter. He insisted so I put it in a work shop and ended up using it more than the “better” one at home.

Something about Canon printers they just for the life of them can't stay connected to any network which is a pain in the you know what. So sort of defeats the point of a wifi network printer unless you like struggling ever time you go to print one page for hours to get it to print. One job to do and it just can't do it. Going to recycle this printer tomorrow it's not worth the frustration.

I hesitated to buy another Canon printer - the last one I had lasted about 3 years...then quit. My HP, before the Canon Pixma, lasted 15+ years. Hmm.
But, I did buy another as it is what I knew best tech-wise...and I was in a hurry...
So far the printer, scanner, works well enough. I find from a design point it is a strange contraption. Little doors need to pop out to work and paper drawers are a struggle to push in pull out, flimsy plastic covers on the the paper drawer, not sure why its there. All in all it seems like flimsy machine. But, I like that it is small, does not take up much room on my desk, has clean lines, prints well enough in color for my home use. Scanning is easy.
(My other Pixma was gorgeous in design, even though it didn't last long - I am an artist - good looking design, durability, and function is really important to me...Canon!)
The test will be how long it lasts. I will begin my research now for the next printer. If this Pixma does not tow the line and give me years of output, this will be my last Canon printer.
Crossing fingers.

Printer works as intended. Replaced an aged Canon with a print head error. Set up was fairly quick out of box, just need to follow the directions! Prints fast and quietly. Smaller footprint than previous model. Now able to print from devices via AirPrint.

Replaced a very good Epson (but aging 7 years and not aligning ink properly); after deciding not to buy more expensive ink-sets given the low cost of printers these days. Plus no need for Fax in modern offices (some do; but not me); so I got this one; wanted Red just to be different (I have red chairs). Anyway Wireless hookup easy; speed superb; and legibility excellent. Also 'quieter' than any I've had in the past. When you load the software there is a setting for 'quite' and it's not slowing the printing speed; so why not. Very pleased and also it set up straight-away from my laptop; iPhone and iPad. This model clearly supports Air-Print straight from IOS where some early models were a bit more complex to get it done. Very pleased.

So I needed a new printer to print a bunch of documents for some governmental nonsense I had to submit for my wife. My old printer, which has served me well for over 10 years, suddenly decided to stop being recognized by my computers and the app for my phone and tablets.
Since I needed to get these things printed ASAP, I checked reviews, cost of ownership, longevity of ink, etc. all the things one checks when buying a printer.
I decided on this printer for its size, simplicity, and the decent amount of prints you can get for your money spent on ink. It’s not the most economical, but it’s also not too bad.
I got over 100 pages printed from the sample ink carts they included with the printer. I can still print out a few things, but I’m not sure of how many pages I have left.
The biggest thing for me is that this printer has AirPrint. I hate breaking out my laptop every time I need to print something I receive in an email. The AirPrint works flawlessly.
This printer also supported WPS WiFi setup, so it took all of 15 seconds to get it connected and running.

After a number of reliable years of service a Canon MG5220 A-I-O we owned failed on boot. The TS8220 was Canon's recommended replacement. Sadly, no current Canon printer uses the same ink as the 5220, so our remaining ink stock was wasted. I might have been more accepting of this had the TS8220 even used the same number of ink tanks, but it requires even one more than our earlier model. Since Canon printers charge all ink tanks at once, including color ones even when you are printing entirely in black, this just increases the waste required to keep the printer in service.
Apart from the operational expense, this printer was not terribly expensive for the feature set. It will handle most of the tasks we used our previous printer for (except for transferring scanned images directly to a USB thumb drive, since this printer lacks a USB port for this purpose). It does offer one additional feature the 5220 lacked, namely Air Print for printing wirelessly from our Apple devices. Air Print does work, but the quality is not always as might be expected, with some differences observed between the image on screen, and the image on paper.
Build quality is admittedly a bit disappointing in light of the more robust quality of our previous Canon. The paper tray was reduced in capacity by one-third, and has a separate rather thin and flimsy cover that must be removed to properly seat the paper, and can sometimes be difficult to replace. This design change alone, while only slightly annoying, will be an ongoing source of frustration because the 5220's paper tray had no such add-on cover, was more sturdy, and did not require refilling nearly as often as the 8220 will.
Otherwise, the technology is somewhat improved, with a slightly larger color LCD display that also features touch screen capability, something lacking on the 5220. Of course, this eliminates the need for function buttons, so the screen is your control panel. There is a power On/Off button, and a glaring white LED (far too bright for its purpose and location) power status light. A darker color and dimmer LED would have been more suitable, and I find myself turning the printer on and off with each use, just to avoid the glare of the LED.
On power off, the display will ask if you wish the printer to automatically retract the paper output tray, and the proper response will result in a bit of saved space in front of the printer, and a more streamlined overall appearance when the printer is not in use, but that space will again be needed for the next print job, at which time the output tray will automatically extend.
On the default Standard print quality setting, the 8220 is somewhat faster than the equivalent setting on our previous model, but also suffers from light line banding in areas with wide ink coverage, a problem the 5220 was able to avoid. On high quality, this issue is resolved on the 8220, but the speed is greatly reduced, and my impression is that it may even be a bit slower than the 5220.
This printer will make a competent addition to a home setup, or even perhaps to a small home office, but for higher print demands, especially where quality is a factor, you might be better served by a more capable system. All things considered, this is an average printer, competent, with decent features at a reasonable price, but with lower than expected build quality and higher than expected printing costs.

I wanted a smaller printer than the one I had, so when it died, I went looking for another. This one is perfect, and it prints edge-to-edge. It also turns itself off after an hour or so. I can scan to my computer and print from my iPad and iPhone. It’s quiet. It’s small enough to not be too noticeable. I really like it, haven’t had any problems, and would recommend it. (I can’t speak to the fax function, since I don’t use it.)

This was easy to set up-it steps you through it so even a computer dummy like me could do it. I had to look at the online manual to load the paper as it kept on recognizing the wrong paper holder. So far, I have only printed out documents and scanned stuff but it does those jobs fine.
The only thing is the paper holder stays out at all times and that looks a bit fragile Smaller and neater than the old Pima printer I had.

I am using this product for my home office and it's more compact than I imagined. The setup was not difficult at all and as for any network connection setup, I had no issue whatsoever. So far, there have been no issues in print quality and the quiet mode helps with the noise. The ink does lower noticeably when I ran a few test prints, so if this is for people who print a lot, then I would choose another printer. However, if you're more of a home user that does not need to print daily then this printer is for you. It is best for smaller demands on copying needs.

I am using this product for my home office and it's more compact than I imagined. This is not a bad thing as it fits beside my desk and is not bulky. The setup was not difficult at all and as for any network connection setup, I had no issue whatsoever. I will say that instead of using the SSID instructions on the manual CD, I just used the WPS option on the printer itself and that worked faster than the manual way. So far, there have been no issues in print quality and the quiet mode helps with the noise. The ink does lower noticeably when I ran a few test prints, so if this is for people who print a lot, then I would choose another printer. This printer had all the features I was looking for. Manual feed (vs. an automated one that jams). Compact size (much smaller than my last Canon). Ability to connect to WiFi directly. And prints much more quickly than the broken Canon it replaced. Great feature for a very reasonable cost.

I no longer needed my large printer and looked around for something smaller and more affordable for occasional printing. I settled on the Canon Pixma TS8220 printer, and I’m very happy with my purchase. The print quality is very good. It was easy to set up and connect to my devices.
