If properly charged periodically, you can expect years of service from the internal Evolution battery. In the event that it degrades from age after years of use, replacements are readily available from major Celestron dealers such as High point Scientific as seen here: https://www.highpointscientific.com/celestron-battery-pack-for-nexstar-evolution-telescopes-ser-f00-007
