QuestionCan I see things that are super far out such as other galaxies? you know what i mean not like in perfect detail but just to see the general image.

- Answer Absolutely! The StarSense Explorer DX 130AZ telescope gathers enough light to reveal faint objects such as galaxies and nebulae. The best views will be seen from a dark sky site far from city light pollution. The Andromeda Galaxy will reveal its core, as well as its two faint companion galaxies. The Orion Nebula will appear as a gaseous cosmic flower in space.

- Answer I think this is a decent beginners telescope. Fairly easy to maneuver around. If your child is a typical 13 year old, they should have no problem.

- Answer You will need the #93640 Universal Barlow and T-Adapter and a Sony E-mount T-ring adapter for your A6600.

QuestionWhy is it when I align the phone with the telescope is it that everything is upside down on the phone

- Answer Please make sure you are using the Starsense Explorer app and not just the camera phone only. The native camera phone will show a reversed mirror image as reflected by the angle mirror in the Starsense phone cradle. Start the Starsense Explorer phone app and follow the on screen prompts to align the telescope. If the image is still upside down, it is likely an issue with the phone's camera setting. The Starsense Explorer app has no settings to invert the image. If the image remains inverted when using the Starsense Explorer app, and the native camera settings are correct, please contact Celestron technical support at https://www.celestron.com/pages/technical-support

QuestionWhat size batteries does the scop use?

- Answer The Starsense DX130AZ is a manually operated telescope and does not need batteries. Pointing directions are provided by the attached cellphone using the free Starsense Explorer app. The only item needing a battery is the attached Starpointer finder. It comes with a battery and uses the common CR2032 button battery.

- Answer Yes you can see planets and stars. You can see pretty much whatever. You program your phone to it and it will tell you what is nearby and you have to know how to adjust in order to find whatever you are looking for.

QuestionNo one answered my question. What cell phones are compatible with the Celestron 114mm LT Neutonian reflector telescope to use the software? I have a galaxaxy A51 and the software says it is not cmpatible, the phone is only two years old.

- Answer The Samsung Galaxy A51 smartphone is not compatible with the StarSense App, as the internal inclinometer/gyro sensors are not high enough resolution for the App to figure out where the scope and phone are pointing. - Answer The easiest way to check your smartphone's compatibility is to visit Celestron.com/sse with your smartphone’s web browser and run a compatibility check. Otherwise, you can go to the same webpage on your computer and view a list of tested Android smartphones. You can also send an email inquiry to Celestron's Technical Support Department: [email protected] if you have any questions. A refractor telescope, such as the StarSense LT 80AZ and DX 102AZ, will provide sharp views of bright objects such as the Moon and popular planets. However, its smaller aperture will not collect as much light from faint nebulae and galaxies compared to a large aperture reflector telescope such as the StarSense Explorer LT 114AZ and DX 130AZ. Refractor telescopes can use an erect diagonal image suitable for terrestrial viewing, as objects will be viewed in their right-side-up image orientation. Reflector telescopes are not recommended for terrestrial viewing as objects appear upside down, which is normal for this type of optical design.

QuestionI live on a bluff and want a telescope that I can look down on the cities below me. I'm estimating I need a telescope with a 30-50 mile radius. I would also want it for star and planet viewing. Unfamiliar with telescopes, which one would you recommend?

- Answer We recommend a refractor telescope such as the StarSense Explorer DX 102AZ. This telescope comes with an erect image diagonal, so the views will be in their correct right-side up image orientation while observing astronomical and terrestrial objects.
