Does the base lock once you set the kettle on it? null

It sits in the base, but does not "lock." However, the unit won't work (boil water) unless it is sitting in the base correctly.

Nope, it’s removable by lifting the kettle. No lock system

It sits on the base and connects with the contact but it doesn't lock in place as to not being able to remove it.

No the base does not lock, you are able to pick it up if you want before it shuts off.
