• They are the on/off switch plus the first button opens the lid

• There is a switch on the handle to pop the lid open if necessary and another switch to toggle the unit on and off. It switches itself off automatically after a boil has been achieved and you do not have to lift the lid to pour.

• One button turns the kettle on and the other opens the lid for filling. There is no need to push a button when pouring. Just tip and pour.
