...About fifty (yes, 50!) kettles of tea. This device is the bee's knees or if you're feeling rather rakish, the toad's goads! I bought this for me and me alone and let me tell you all right now, this little kettle has the mettle to get the job done. I am not joking about 50 full kettles of tea. I am sipping some iced tea right now. Made FRESH by this wonderful device. My daughter tried a cup just yesterday and liked the flavor of the tea and the economical way the infuser gets the most from just two (yup, 2!) bags of tea that I will be giving her and her husband one of these today. I put my hard earned money where my typing fingers are and highly recommend this not only with words but by purchasing another one today! Huzzah?! Yessir! Yuppers! Yeah...Highly recommended indeed. Trust me...I know what I'm doin' when I'm reviewin'. :-)

When I needed something to replace my beloved GE kettle, I was a bit skeptical of the Chefman. It seemed a bit more than I needed, and I wasn't sure if it would heat with the efficiency of the GE, which was fantastic at providing fast boiling water for my morning tea. I'm glad to say that the Chefman kettle has been a great addition to my kitchen. While I mostly use it for small volumes of water, the few times I've needed to use the full 1.8L capacity, it has come to a boil even faster than the GE. Additionally, the blue lights and glass walls, which I was initially a bit wary of, provide a very stylish touch, especially when the kettle is at full capacity. Additionally, the light helps prevent those few times when the kettle gets left on to boil try, or accidentally turned on again by a bump while cleaning up after pouring the tea. Overall, it's a great kettle, worth the money.

Blue glow indicates kettle is ON

Love this kettle. First it's very aesthetic on your counter. Nice to look at. Plus, you can tell if you have already turned it on as it glows blue Until it reaches a rolling boil then blue light shuts off and it turns off. The Pot changes color back to clear. It's fast for boiling a cup or a pot full of water. I am not a big fan of microwaving my water and hate to take up space on my stove for a water kettle. This is across from the stove. Just love my purchase.

Sound kettle, slight smell of plastic

There is a slight smell of plastic when first running the kettle. The smell appears to come from the section that holds the infuser, which is made of plastic. The metal is stainless steel I believe. The handle is plastic, along with the piece that holds the infuser along with the lip of the kettle. The water does heat quickly. This is my first evening owning the kettle. After the three initial cleanings, the kettle boils quickly without a plastic smell. I boiled water for tea and boiled another pot for coffe, both were successful. I'm pleased with the product and I'll update in the future. I dropped the review to four stars due to the initial smell.

We purchased this kettle as we liked the design and quality feel. I noticed after purchase that the kid does not close 100% but didn't find this a major issue. The kettle worked well but I must admit it's slow to boil, but this I was half expecting due to the low 1000w power rating. However, what I did not expect is for the kettle to stop working completely after 6 months! And what is dissapointing is that you need to return the kettle to the manufacturer and not the shop. In the U.K. you can return to the shop within the warrantee period.

It does what it says, heats water to a boil in under 6 minutes (I’ve used it to make soluble coffee, on a French press, making Jello, rice, soup etc and just about any recipe that calls for hot hot water) the tea infuser it’s a nice little add on and also does what it says, whenever I need to make a big batch of loose leaf tea this is my go to kettle (I used to make it individually, cup per cup but when you have 10 people at home and all of them decide to go for the tea, this is a necessity) I have used it for ground coffee also, I did not loooved the result but it came out alright

I lost my old, reliable GE Kettle in a move, and needed to purchase a new one, so I went with the Chefman 1.8L from online recommendations. I enjoy the look, and the price range is acceptable for a mid-range electric kettle. It doesn't have a lot of features, but I'm not looking for timers, specific temperatures, etc. I'm looking for something that will boil water that I can then pour over a tea bag. While it does not heat the water quite as fast as I would like, still heats rather quickly, and looks very stylish sitting on the counter. Definitely what I would recommend to friends.

After purchasing the first one and using it for a couple days there was a leak at the top of the kettle. So I contacted the manufacturer and it took them a week to get back to me with forms that I would have to fill out in order for the warranty to be effective. So I contact the Best Buy and asked if I can take the cattle directly back to them since I was still within my return period and they said yes which was great. Then after returning it I replaced it with another Kettle exact same make and model hoping for the best but then it turned out same defect.

I have been looking for a basic affordable tea kettle. I was not immediately familiar with Chefman but after reading other reviews, i pulled the trigger and picked up this one. There were a few reviews about glass cracking but if you reas the directions and make sure kettle has enough water, you should not have a problem. This kettle boils water fast and i love the effortless release from base. Added bonus is that the kettle matches my high end stainless appliances. Bottom line - i am happy with my purchase.

I'm an aesthetic diva- compared to the other options in store, the choice was clear....not unlike the carafe itself. It is gorgeous, but you'll need to use filtered water inside to keep it that way. The stainless steel on the bottom of the carafe was affected heavily by hard water deposits after one use. With a clear carafe you're going to stare at those forever. Also doesn't switch to off if you remove the carafe before its heating up cycle- making this unit a dumb waiter. Still has auto off, just not smart-auto-off.

It heats water quickly - that's what it was intended to do and it does it well. The blue LED is cool. I don't have the same issue other reviewers have mentioned of not being able to empty it out completely. Plus if you empty it out while it's still hot any remaining water just evaporates away. Definitely it would be nice if the spout were not plastic, and it would also be nice if it made some sort of noise (beep?) when it was done boiling. It's also not the most ergonomic when filling with water. But otherwise a solid product and good value.

Although this is a decent kettle, I will be returning it for the second time due to it developing a leak by the second week of use. My daughter and I are avid tea drinkers, and the infuser that is included was the number one reason I bought this kettle. I believe it has a design flaw, as the seal between the glass and metal parts is not as secure as it should be with heavy use. It's cool to see it light up blue while it's heating, but this pot is not a keeper.

The kettle does exactly what it says it does, and the blue light is a nice touch for millennial hipsters who care about that sort of thing. I drink a lot of herbal teas and hot coco in the winter and this is perfect for that. Also have used it for soup mixes recently when sick so I am more than pleased with this product. Only issue it that it is a little tough to clean, but as long as you just use it for water that shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

I just settled with this one because it was cheaper than the others honestly. The one with the cute design was double the price so I got this one instead. I AM VERY HAPPY I DID! This one is neat. its clear so you can easily see when its boiling. (My son loves watching it) And it even lights up! That is a cool feature which makes my sons bubble watching show even better because they are blue bubbles. I like the tea attachment it makes making tea even easier.

Used product for two months, works great. I use it everyday. But I noticed when using it this last time that a screw inside by the lid had rusted and was corroding inside, not sure how long it has been like this! Maybe it's a fluke?

I like the pot. It’s growing on me. When I first got it, there was a heavy plastic smell. That’s going away. Also, there is an inside seam on the handle that actually gets hot. But, for what I got it for, it’s great. It boils the water, you can see inside (unlike my old white plastic model that kept you guessing) and now that the plastic smell has mostly gone, I like it a lot.

This was less than half the price of others, yet seems to work quite well. The one thing keeping it from five stars is that you really can;t jut make one or two cups of loose leaf tea with it, because the strainer does not go all the way to the bottom. You must have at least 4-6 cups in it for the water to be deep enough to steep the tea leaves.

The Chiefman electric kettle is just about 1 month old. The lid doesn't close properly and now when the water reaches a boil, the lid pops open and it doesn't shut off. I plan to contact the company since there is a 1 year warranty. But the thought of paying them $15 to ship it for repair doesn't seem quite right. I probably won't buy this product again.

I love my Chefman electric kettle. It is so easy to boil water for my tea.. Before I bought this I was having to wait for my tea kettle to boil.. Now with my Chefman electric kettle it is so fast getting boiling water for tea and has an automatic shut off while staying hot on the metal heating plate. It holds enough water for my tea through out the day and with automatic shut off comes right back to a boil when turned on.

Our first one did not work out of the box. We have had the second for some time, and the switch is definitely shoddy. I have had it apart, and everything inside is plastic. Stuff gets out of alignment and won't work. I wish I had bought a more expensive one that was better made. $40 for a disposable kettle is a wast in so many ways.
