Know that container is All Glass the only rubber or plastic is at the top where you pour your water in and it's made to handle the heat otherwise what your boiling is in Pure Glass nothing else

I found that YES plastic comes in contact with the hot water as you pour it out. The spout is plastic and there is a mesh filter in front of the spout that has some type of metal and plastic. This will be the reason I return it.
