In general, Chromecast with Google TV works with most TVs, even old non-smart ones as long as it is connected to a TV with an HDMI input, and connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network. Availability and performance of certain features, services, and applications are device and network dependent. However, If you're using an Android device, you can mirror your phone screen to the Chromecast to watch content from the MSNBC.
