Hello! This item runs on a ThermaCELL® butane cartridge (included).

No it does not.. it has this little tube with liquid in the area where the battery would go.

Does not need batteries. Comes with a no spill Thermacell Butane Cartridge. You can buy Refill Cartridges online. This is just like the one from the 80’s.

No - not battery. I couldn’t find a battery one so I got this. You get a plastic bottle of butane that you put in and take out. And it lasts 2 weeks not 2-months. But it worked fine for a 15 day cruise in Europe. Just turn it off and keep curling while it’s still hot so that liquid bottle lasts longer.
