• It's a hard plastic "bar" with a very thin polymer covering to provide a bit of traction for those long typing sessions. Get thee a memory foam pad instead for better ergonomics.

• It’s plastic with a small amount of cushion. Very small but it’s better than nothing.

• Its plastic but it has a rubber feel to it. I don't notice its there when I am typing or gaming. It has a pretty nice feel to it.
