Hi DanW, There can be different reasons for a system to overheat. We recommend reaching out to our support team so they can work with you directly to determine the cause: support.corsair.com -Brian
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thermal paste will not solve your temperature problems, I would suggest getting an All-in-one CPU cooler (Corsair and NZXT are a good place to start) and possibly adding more case fans. Most CPU coolers come with thermal paste, so I would buy one first before you buy this. Also, remove your old thermal paste with rubbing alcohol before putting the new stuff on. I would suggest watching a YouTube video on how to apply new paste.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Change your fans with Corsair ml models. If it's still having issues, make sure the fans are pointed the correct way and then bring it to someone that can help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thats a complicated question to answer, your PC could be overheating from many different reasons. Do you know what part is overheating? If it is the CPU then maybe this product will help you but I would also consider checking your airflow. Maybe the extra fan will help with that, but make sure you have as close to equal amounts of intake and outtake as possible. It also could be that the cooler for your CPU or even GPU are just not good for cooling ironically so if the first two options dont work I would recommend a better CPU cooler such as the Hyper 212 evo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is unlikely this product would solve your heating issue, unless the issue was specifically they forgot any thermal paste at all.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your pc is really getting that hot it's probably time for a cleanout. I would recommend just taking it completely apart and cleaning off all the fans and the cpu heatsink. If it's old enough it could be time to replace the thermal paste as well yes.
I would recommend:
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Your pre built should of came with a cooling fan with your cpu. Usually, when playing high demanding games your computer will get significantly hotter. Check if there is any dust in the fans that may be restricting air flow. You can download open hardware monitor to check your temperatures of your components. A good temp while playing games for your cpu should be around 70 depending on the type of cpu you have. Same with your gpu.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thermal compound is mainly used to make it easier to transfer heat from the Cpu to the whatever cpu cooler you’re using, so if you somehow don’t have one in a prebuilt you will need to buy one too yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, simply unscrew the stock cooler and clean off the old paste with alcohol and a dry cloth then reapply, but pre build PC’s have terrible coolers so I’d buy a new one
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check the manufacturer's web site for your processor to get the operating temperature range and see if you are exceeding the safe range when under load. If you are exceeding the safe temp, then you likely need to upgrade your cooling, this compound will not solve the problem alone, this only facilitates the transfer of heat from the processor to the cooler.
