First, make sure you have correctly set the time, including "AM" or "PM" on the coffee maker using the "CLOCK" setting. After setting that time, turn the knob
 to the "AUTO OFF" setting. You will see another clock which can be set to keep the pot on from a few minutes to 4 hours. Set the total number of minutes or hours that you want the pot to stay on. So if you want hot coffee for two hours, set the clock for 2:00 and then move the dial back to the main clock or to "Auto On" or "Brew" if you turn your pot on manually.
