If your are using milk, it will prompt you to clean with a fresh external water source (glass). It holds approximately 43 oz of water internally and will use about 2 oz each time it starts to purge system. Depending on the size of drink you select you can expect to average 5 servings before refill of the internal tank is needed. The grinder holds around 8 oz of beans, and has no access for cleaning, but the internal pump/portafilter combo unit slides out for cleaning, and so will the internal tray that holds the used grounds.
