First off, all the answers provided are not wrong but also do not touch the fact that this wiring fault light also comes on if there is a fault with the UPS itself. I recently had to replace my UPS due to a wiring issue as it will also behave this way if it has an internal short (fault) that connects the output of the UPS to its input (via the internal fault). Best test is to try other outlets and if the light is still on, its the unit itself. My UPS would immediately shut off whenever power fluctuated. I pulled the batteries and tested then and they were still in good shape but anything power was lost from the wall, the unit would shut off due to this short.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm not an electrician but the User's manual (description #11) says it could be a grounding problem with your electrical outlet and you need to have an electrician to check it out. Also, according to the Manual, you have no surge protection if your wall socket is not properly grounded.

The UPS will not provide surge protection without being plugged into a grounded and properly wired wall outlet. Thank you for your question.
