Hi Chanty, If the Temperature setting is set in too cold, it will create a frost build-up. Since this is an auto defrost unit, the defrost water from the appliance is channeled into a drip tray located above the compressor. Heat transfer from the compressor causes the defrost water to evaporate, and you don't need to clean it frequently. Regards, Earl
