A:AnswerI'm pretty sure this question has already been answered. But for those who may have the same question in the future, yes it's ok to leave the sub on for long periods of time. It goes into sleep mode when there's no signal coming into it. But I would turn it off when going on long vacations.
A:AnswerWhen my definitive technology failed i called the company. They told me to break it down and remove the two circuit boards. The boards could be sent to an address they gave me. The price to fix was as much as a new subwoofer.
I replaced mine with their DN8 model and it works great.
A:AnswerHello, both of these subwoofers feature 8 inch woofers so size wise, it would be a good replacement. There have been some advancements in the design of the DN8 that has made it more efficient which you may find will lead to be a much more enjoyable experience.
A:AnswerLFE/RCA is the most common way to hook up the Definitive Technology DN8 subwoofer. If connecting to an AV receiver, use the LFE/Subwoofer out to the DN8 LFE RCA IN. Subwoofer RCA cables are available at Best Buy.
